Resources to Support Healing & Grief
Tribal people across North America have experienced great loss and pain from historical events, which leads to historicaltrauma. This historical trauma can affect us today when we read about the pain our relatives endured. We encourage you all totake some time today to care for yourself, and your loved ones. Some ways to do that are talking to a trusted friend or adult, deep/box breathing, prayer, and ceremony. We can heal through our Traditional Ways of Knowing, and through our relationships with our community. It has been a heavy time as this news has circulated, and we are thinking of you all and holding your families close.
